Infection-ControlToday, long term care facilities are challenged with the growing curve in antibiotic resistant bacteria and the increasing prevalence of viral illnesses in this otherwise immune-compromised population.

St. Joseph's Villa supports advanced care in relation to Infection Control, trying to meet the needs of our seniors in a home-like setting. Our annual influenza vaccination campaign takes place in late October to early November. We strongly encourage our families and friends to also seek annual immunization as an additional means of protecting those you love.

To help us better protect our residents from contagious illnesses, we ask that you postpone your visit if you are feeling unwell, or have that aching all over feeling, sniffles, coughs or sneezes. Remember -handwashing is our best defence! Wash your hands before and after visiting. Feel free to contact Natalie Cameron our Infection Prevention and Control Co-ordinator at any time to answer your questions or concerns at extension 2228.
