All admissions to St. Joseph's Villa are processed through the Social Work Department in co-ordination with the Community Care Access Centre (CCAC). Interested individuals must contact their local CCAC to initiate an application into a Long-Term Care Facility. At St. Joseph's Villa, there is an Intake and Admissions Co-ordinator to guide families and new residents through the admission process.
Tours of the facility are booked through the Social Work Assistant. The Villa has respite care beds including two respite beds on secure home areas which are scheduled through the CCAC. There are a team of Social Service Workers to meet the needs of the 378 residents and their families. The Social Service Worker is available for such services as, advocacy on behalf of the resident and families, connecting with community resources, supportive counseling, education, and assistance with adjustment to the new environment.
We view residents and their families as an integral part of the care team and encourage participation in resident care and planning.
